Rock Vessels in Water, 2026
Rock Vessels in Water is a series currently being developed for NSCAD’s Point Pleasant Park Installation class, following a year of planning and development. Works by participating artists will be installed in Point Pleasant Park from April 14 to May 14. Located along the shoreline of Chain Rock Beach, these pieces are inspired by the striking rock formations that shape Chebuhktuk’s coastline

These images and videos document key stages of the Rock Vessels in Water process. From mixing over 400 pounds of clay (which I developed to withstand the elements while remaining strong and workable) to installing both pieces in the water. The process also includes creating maquettes to test construction techniques and explore form, followed by several weeks of coil-building to shape each vessel.
